Artemisia is the realized dream of two Seattle families with a passion for energy efficiency and spending time in the Methow Valley. From the beginning, there was a commitment to developing a modern, all-electric, net-zero energy home, efficient but also comfortable and welcoming to guests renting the home on a nightly basis. David Reddy, O'Brien360's Building Performance Principal, took the lead on energy analysis, and ultimately the final design and permitting of the home. To save on cost, the group decided to general contract the home and

do many construction tasks themselves, with David taking point on contractor coordination. The home was completed in one year, a decent feat considering the tight labor market, remote location, and both couples welcoming their first children to their families while construction was completed.
