Built on an old Navy housing site that was transferred to Kitsap County, Kingston Village Green comprises a new community gathering space, a branch of the public library, a senior center, and the local chapter of the Boys & Girls Club. The 23,000 square foot, single-level facility community center, provides an integral piece of communal support to the city’s residents. It features large windows looking onto the adjacent park to optimize daylight.
O’Brien360 performed LEED® project management for the project during the design phase, including navigating how a complicated network of partners could work together to meet LEED requirements.
After the project opened, a group of community members put together a community program and raised money to add solar panels to the project's roof and help the facility reduce electricity costs. The project was certified Silver in January 2018.
