The Jackson Apartments is an urban redevelopment project located in Seattle’s Central Area neighborhood. The project came together due to a collaborative effort between the developer, architect, Seattle’s Office of Planning & Community Development (OPCD), its Department of Neighborhoods, and other dedicated community stakeholders including passionate residents of the Central Area.
O’Brien360 served as LEED for Homes Provider/Green Rater for the 761,866 sq. ft. project that includes a 377,059 sq. ft., 532-unit residence; 47,991 sq. ft. of retail comprised of small spaces for homegrown businesses to take root, and a 25,000-square-foot grocer.
The site has an abundance of landscaped open space, such as its large public plaza and open area situated mid-block and aligned with a previously vacated street right-of-way. The landscape and the base of the building feature the work of local artists, and each amenity carries a solid intention to enhance tenant comfort and wellbeing while utilizing the expanse of green space to foster a sense of place and community. The Jackson is LEED Platinum- and Salmon-Safe certified.
