Cornish opened their new, state-of-the-art, LEED-certified, 20-story residence hall and learning center in Fall 2015. Located in the center of campus and at the city's creative heart, the new Cornish Commons will offer an opportunity for students to live in the most vibrant part of Seattle, blocks from South Lake Union, with restaurants, live music, and many innovative cultural institutions. O'Brien360 worked with Cornish, Howard S. Wright Construction, and Ankrom Moison Architects as the LEED for Homes Provider and Green Rater on the project, which achieved LEED for Homes Mid-Rise Gold certification. O'Brien360 guided design to integrate the rating system requirements into this unique building type and proactive planning and diagnostics toward compartmentalizing residential units, an underlying goal of LEED for Homes.
