The Kennewick Housing Authority (KHA) has developed a one acre site with 16 units of micro housing for homeless families, homeless veterans, and homeless persons with disabilities. The modular homes were manufactured in Idaho, trucked to the site, and set on traditional foundations and fully hooked up to site utilities. Unit types include four studios, four 1-bedroom, and eight 2-bedroom units, ranging from 250 to 600 sq. ft. O’Brien360 provided conceptual design analysis to successfully apply for a grant through the Washington Housing Trust Fund’s (HTF) Ultra-High Energy Efficiency (UHEE) to achieve
Net Zero Energy performance. O’Brien360 acted as the Evergreen Coordinator through design and construction, including coordination with the Department of Commerce Third Party Verifier for both factory-based and on-site verification, and facilitated completion of Evergreen Sustainability Development Standard (v3.0) certification and UHEE As-built Analysis report.
