WSDOT Transportation Management Center

Shoreline, WA

Bringing new life to an existing building, the renovation of this Regional Transportation Headquarters aims to reinvigorate a Shoreline mainstay

  • Reduction of single-occupant vehicle travel through safe pedestrian access to local services, ample nearby public transportation and covered bicycle storage and amenities
  • Reuse of over 90% of the building envelope and structure to reduce embodied carbon impacts from virgin materials
  • Prioritization of healthy interior materials where replacement was required

As part of its commitment to sustainability, the Washington State Department of Transportation is undergoing a complete renovation of its 161,000 sq. ft Regional Headquarters building (RHQ) located in the city of Shoreline. The ambitious upgrades support the LEED® NC, v4 Silver certification and will provide a modern, aesthetically pleasing, and healthy working environment for staff who will continue to occupy the space throughout construction.

O’Brien360 is providing LEED project management services to the project throughout design and construction. O’Brien360 also assisted with the project’s state LEED reporting process, which supports the State High-Performance Green Building requirements for capital projects.
