Hobson Place, located in South Seattle, is the downtown Emergency Service Center's (DESC) latest housing development for those transitioning from chronic homelessness and is one of many affordable housing projects O'Brien360 has worked on with DESC. Hobson Place provides residents with safe, permanent, sustainable, supportive housing and a suite of health care services. O'Brien360 provided new building commissioning and ESDS performance verification for the project and supported its participation in the Housing Development Consortium of Seattle - King County (HDC) Exemplary Building Program.

Hobson Place received funding from the Washington State Housing Trust Fund, including an additional Ultra-High Energy Efficiency (UHEE) grant for pursuing passive house certification (PHIUS+ 2018) for the building's residential portion. Hobson Place is the first permanent supportive housing project in Washington state to earn Passive House certification. Hobson Place was completed in two phases, and in January 2022 had its final phase grand opening. Watch it here
