Sound Transit commits to expanded potential strategies for LEED® and Envision certification at one of the region’s busiest transportation hubs

O’Brien360 is the technical lead for sustainability on the HNTB|Jacobs final design team and for design services during construction for Sound Transit’s Lynnwood Link extension. O’Brien360’s initial responsibilities included overseeing the incorporation of existing sustainability commitments into the final design, researching, analyzing, and recommending innovative strategies in such areas as renewable energy, green stormwater infrastructure, and green materials for potential inclusion and evaluation of LEED and Envision certifications.  As a result, Sound Transit committed to certifying the Lynnwood City Center Station as LEED Silver and later, when adding an interim station at 130th Ave NE, to certify the added station under LEED Transit with a target of Silver.  O’Brien360 is now shepherding both stations through the LEED design review process and overseeing implementation during construction for Lynnwood City Center.
