Ryan has been a valuable member of the O’Brien360 building performance team since 2014. In his role as Building Performance Analyst, Ryan has developed energy models for various purposes, including early phase design optimization, LEED® performance ratings, Washington State/Seattle energy code compliance, ENERGY STAR® score, ENERGY STAR Multifamily High Rise performance ratings, Utility Allowance analysis, and Washington State Built Green performance ratings. His extensive experience encompasses benchmarking building historical utility data, and calibrating energy models for building renovation design and control optimization, utility cost analysis, auditing of existing building envelopes, and mechanical system performance. He has also developed Excel tools for building utility regression and disaggregation, implemented measurement and verification (M&V) activities, including monitoring and analyzing sub-meter and building automation system (BAS) trend data, weather data, as well as comparing to energy model performance.  Ryan was also integral in developing the California Building Energy Code Compliance for COMercial (CBECC-COM) software, including implementing and testing algorithms. Compile energy code compliance submittals following Washington State Energy Code (WSEC) and Seattle Energy Code (SEC) guidelines, as well as International Energy Conservation Code (IECC), for architects.
